Renewables make up 44.4% of Germany's power generation in Q3
- The share of electrical power created from renewable resource resources in Germany rose to 44.4% of the complete power fed right into the grid in the 3rd quarter of 2022 from 43% a year previously, driven by more wind as well as solar energy, reveals data published by the Federal Statistics Office (Destatis).
Wind wind turbines produced 19.8 billion kWh of electricity in the 3 months through the end of September as well as made up 16.8% of the power fed into the power grid, up from 16.5% a year earlier. The feed-in from solar energy increased by 20.3% in annual terms to 18.9 billion kWh, reaching a share of 16.0% of the complete power output. The strong boost was generally a result of the unusually high number of hrs of sunshine in the autumn of 2022.

The share of conventional power was up to 55.6% of the overall 118.1 billion kWh from 57.0% a year ago. Power generation from coal and also natural gas expanded 13.3% as well as 4.5%, specifically, to 42.9 billion kWh and 10.9 billion kWh while nuclear power plants fed 8.7 billion kWh, representing a share of 7.4%.
