  • Reden's new solar farms in Italy's Molise region power 7,000 homes, cut 13,000 tonnes of emissions, and boost their Italian capacity to over 50 MW.

French solar company Reden has launched two solar farms, Montenero 1 and Montenero 2, in Italy's Molise region, with a combined capacity of 14 MW. These farms are expected to generate 21.7 GWh annually, powering approximately 7,000 local households. The projects, located in Montenero di Bisaccia, utilize bifacial panels and an agro-solar layout to integrate with the landscape, reducing carbon emissions by 13,000 tonnes annually compared to gas-fired plants.

Construction, led by Altenia, was completed in 12 months, featuring single-axis trackers and an on-site substation. While financing details remain undisclosed, Reden hinted at securing green loans under a €264-million credit line with the European Investment Bank. With these projects, Reden's Italian operations now exceed 50 MW, with an additional 90 MW in late-stage permitting. The company plans to incorporate storage in future projects to alleviate local grid congestion.
