Thailand-based Ratch Group and Nexif Energy have started commercial operations at a 74-MWp solar PV project in the Philippines. The majority of the park's output will be supplied to Aboitiz Power Corp under a 10-year PPA, with the rest sold on the wholesale electricity spot market. Revenues from the plant will be recognized starting in the third quarter of this year.

The Calabanga PV park in Camarines Sur province was installed by PowerChina Huadong Engineering Co Ltd and PowerChina Philippines Corporation. The project was developed through a joint venture between Ratch and Nexif, with Nexif holding a 51% stake. The JV, Nexif Ratch Energy, focuses on investing in renewable energy projects in Southeast Asia and achieved financial closing on the project last summer.
