Port of Tallinn acquires sustainable power under agreement with Eesti Energia

- Port of Tallinn, the largest port authority in Estonia, said it has actually signed a renewable resource acquisition agreement with domestic state-owned power firm Eesti Energia AS.

The arrangement specifies that Eesti Energia is to supply 10 GWh of eco-friendly power for the port to use in 2021.
The port stated that its intake currently consists of just Estonia-produced eco-friendly electrical power.
Eesti Energia, via its wholly-owned renewables arm Enefit Green, generates electrical power as well as heat from wind, water, biomass, solar energy as well as metropolitan waste.
In 2020, the energy firm generated 1.5 TWh of renewable power, which made up 40% of its total electrical energy manufacturing, according to a declaration by the Port of Tallinn.
