Poland's Grupa Azoty close to entering 270 MWp PV project
- Poland's chemicals significant Grupa Azoty (WSE: ATT) claimed it has signed a preliminary conditional contract to purchase local Solarfarm Brzezinka, a company which is creating a solar (PV) project with an approximated capacity of 270 MWp.
Grupa Azoty thinks it will certainly be able to settle the purchase of 100% of Solarfarm Brzezinka in the first fifty percent of 2024 gave the technical conditions are figured out and building authorizations for the building of a power plant are obtained, the purchaser claimed in a press release on Friday. The cost of the offer was not disclosed.
The agreement adheres to a duration of special negotiations given that July, in which the parties made clear the terms of collaboration. The solar farm, located in Brzezinka and also Sycow, southwestern Poland, will be built as a turn-key project by VSB Energie Odnawialne Polska as the general service provider. The total investment is approximated at EUR 240 million (USD 255m).
The offer is in line with Grupa Azoty's approach to achieve climate nonpartisanship and energy transition by purchasing renewable resource projects, deputy chief executive officer Marek Wadowski said in July. According to Grupa Azoty's estimates, the prepared sustainable projects will certainly produce some 380 MW by 2030, which will certainly meet 40% of the company's power demands.
