- Renewable energy business Baywa r.e. AG is installing a "technically extremely sophisticated, novel system mix of wind and solar power, consisting of battery storage space, which is unique in this type in Europe" for the Fraunhofer Institute for Chemical Technology ICT in Pfinztal, Germany.

The 670-kilowatt solar power system, which contains numerous partial module arrays on three roof coverings as well as an open area, does not have its very own inverters, but obtains its link to the power grid via the existing wind power plant. In the concept, the solar and also wind power systems as well as battery storage are connected to each various other on the DC side as well as feed right into the grid with one common inverter instead of several different ones. This is planned to both rise efficiency and decrease expenses.
