Philippines' Citicore Breaks Ground on 69-MWp Solar Park

Citicore Renewable Energy Corporation has begun construction on a 69-MWp solar park in Negros Occidental province, Philippines. The project, known as Citicore Solar Negros Occidental 2, will cover 69 hectares of land and is part of the Philippine government's Green Energy Auction Programme 2. The park is scheduled to be commissioned this year and has the potential to expand to a total capacity of 100 MWp.
This will be CREC's second photovoltaic park in Negros Occidental, with the first one already operational since 2016. The company is also planning an initial public offering to raise funds for its pipeline, with a goal of adding 1 GW of solar capacity annually for the next five years. CREC aims to achieve a 35% renewables share in its power generation mix by 2030 and 50% by 2040.
