JP Hidrosistem Streževo has installed a 500 kW photovoltaic power plant on its Streževo dam in North Macedonia. The company intends to sell electricity on the market and invest MKD 30,000,000 (about EUR 487,000) into the PV facility. In Southeastern Europe, several projects to install solar power plants on or near reservoirs and artificial lakes have been completed or are underway. This is a great combination of solar and hydroelectric power plants as the land around water reservoirs is well suited for solar power plants and infrastructure. The investment is expected to pay off in the short term and contribute to the country’s goal to increase the use of clean energy.
