RayGen Resources Pty Ltd has opened a 4MW solar and thermal storage power plant in Carwarp, Victoria. ARENA funds AUD 10 million to support the commercialisation of RayGen's technology, allowing for long-duration energy storage and improved design of a 200 MW solar and 115 MW/1.2 GWh storage system.

Engie Chile has begun assembling a 68-MW/418-MWh battery energy storage system. Tamaya BESS will store electricity from Engie's 114-MW Tamaya solar farm and reduce CO2 emissions by 42,187 tonnes/year. Part of Engie Chile's energy transformation plan, the project aims to convert traditional power plants into renewable energy sources.

Origis Energy has started construction on the 200-MW Escalante Solar Project in New Mexico. Built near Grants, this PV facility will produce enough energy to power 40,000 homes and is scheduled for completion in 2024. Gridworks is overseeing construction and Origis will assume operation and maintenance services. The project will be located next to a zero-emission, hydrogen-fired power facility.

ACWA Power has closed financing for 200MW Kom Ombo solar project in Egypt, with $123 million of the total $182 million investment coming from international institutions. In January 2024, the plant will provide electricity to 130,000 households and help Egypt meet its 2035 goal of 42% renewable energy.

Ameresco is awarded the design contract to build a 589-kW floating solar array for the Mountain Regional Water Special Service District. The project will offset 92% of the energy consumed from the grid, reduce energy costs by 80%, and help the district reach a net-zero energy goal. Construction begins June 2024 with completion expected by September 2024.
