US Grants 425M to Tata Power for India Solar Factory
Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited has been granted USD 425 million by the US International Development Finance Corporation for building a 4.3-GW solar cell and module manufacturing plant in Tamil Nadu. This project will create 2,000 jobs and module production is expected to start in 2020. India's renewable energy goals will be boosted by this facility. Tata Power currently has a 7.8 GW renewable energy portfolio.

Silfab Secures US-made Wafers from NorSun's 5GW Factory
Silfab Solar Inc. has signed an agreement with NorSun to purchase locally-made silicon wafers for its PV module production. This partnership will enable Silfab to strengthen its supply chain and provide more Western-produced wafers for its products. NorSun is currently raising funds for a 3Gw and 5GW production facility in the US.

Gore Street Powers Up Big Rock with LS Energy Batteries
Gore Street Energy Storage Fund PLC has chosen LS Energy Solutions technology for a 200 MW/400 MWh energy storage facility in Imperial County, CA to improve grid reliability. This project will be composed of 137 AiON-ESS deployable containers and 1,300 AiON-SIS string inverters, set to become one of the largest energy storage installations in Imperial County. Construction begins soon, with operations expected in 2024.

NE Solar Powers Up: 2-GW U.S. Factory Opens in Phoenix
