  • PAD RES powers Poland's future with 251 MW solar farms, energizing 65,000 homes and advancing renewable energy goals.

PAD RES, a Polish solar and wind project developer, has launched three photovoltaic farms totaling 251 MW across Poland. The largest, a 138 MW plant in Stargard, West Pomeranian province, began construction in early 2024 and is expected to produce 140 GWh annually, powering approximately 65,000 households. The other two projects, with capacities of 86 MW and 27 MW, are located near Sztum and Mikolajki Pomorskie in the northern Pomeranian province.

The projects received PLN 240 million in financing from the Polish Development Fund in August 2023. PAD RES, a joint venture between Griffin Capital Partners and Kajima Europe, aims to boost renewable energy's share in Poland's energy mix.

How will PAD RES's new solar farms impact Poland's renewable energy landscape?

  • Increase in Renewable Energy Capacity: The addition of 251 MW from these solar farms will significantly boost Poland's renewable energy capacity, contributing to the country's goals for sustainable energy development.
  • Reduction in Carbon Emissions: By replacing fossil fuel-based energy sources, these solar farms will help reduce Poland's carbon footprint, aligning with EU climate targets.
  • Energy Independence: The new solar farms will enhance Poland's energy independence by reducing reliance on imported energy sources, particularly fossil fuels.
  • Economic Growth: The construction and operation of these solar farms are expected to create jobs and stimulate local economies, particularly in the regions where the farms are located.
  • Technological Advancement: The projects may encourage further investment in renewable technologies and infrastructure, fostering innovation and technological advancement in Poland's energy sector.
  • Grid Stability: The integration of these solar farms into the national grid can improve energy stability and reliability, especially during peak demand periods.
  • Policy Support: The successful implementation of these projects may encourage further policy support and investment in renewable energy initiatives across Poland.
  • Community Benefits: Local communities may benefit from improved infrastructure and potential community investment funds associated with the solar farm projects.
