Osaka Gas to get in US solar as well as storage markets
- Japanese power firm Osaka Gas is to get in the US utility-scale solar market through a joint venture with project developer Oriden.
The duo will jointly create a portfolio of utility-scale PV and also energy storage projects with a capacity over of 700MWdc (600MWac).
The relocation follows Osaka Gas U.S.A.'s (OGUSA), the company's US-facing energy device, acquisition of a 15.7 MWdc solar project in North California from Oriden, carried out in collaboration with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries.
Sunao Okamoto, president as well as chief executive officer at OGUSA, claimed: "We delight in to companion with Oriden, a seasoned developer delivering tailored tidy energy services to a wide variety of customers.
" We want to increase this historical connection via future collaboration as well as contribute to the decarbonization of the United States power grid."
Last month, Osaka Gas got in a joint development with innovation firm Aqua Aerem to establish a 10GW green hydrogen project in Northern Australia.
