Onde's Solar Park in Poland: Largest Project Yet

Polish company Onde SA has begun construction on a 32-MW solar park in Poland, the largest project in its renewable energy development portfolio. The Park Lewald Wielki complex will cost PLN 85 million and is expected to be completed by the second quarter of next year. Originally designed for 25 MWp, the project was expanded to 32 MWp.

Onde's CEO Pawel Sredniawa stated that the construction was made possible by the recent divestment of a 60-MW renewables portfolio. The company is considering selling the Park Lewald Wielki project during construction and aims to start implementing more power plants this year. With over 800 MW of projects in its portfolio, Onde plans to reach 1.6 GW-1.8 GW in the next two to three years.

What factors led to Onde SA's decision to expand the Park Lewald Wielki project?

Factors that led to Onde SA's decision to expand the Park Lewald Wielki project include:

  • Recent divestment of a 60-MW renewables portfolio, providing the company with the necessary funds for construction

  • Company's goal to implement more power plants this year, necessitating the expansion of existing projects
  • Onde's ambitious target of reaching 1.6 GW-1.8 GW in the next two to three years, driving the need for larger projects like Park Lewald Wielki.
