Octopus Energy Generation has invested in two clean energy developers in Ireland and Portugal to develop more than 100 solar projects totalling 250MW capacity. The investments will enable the development of solar projects on rooftops and business sites, allowing businesses to benefit from on-premises solar energy deployment sold back to them via fixed power purchase agreements. Verde Energy Group in Ireland will build more than 50 solar projects, with a combined capacity of 100MW, by 2027, while the SparkWave Energy joint venture in Portugal will provide solar installations with no upfront costs to businesses. The solar projects are expected to reduce fossil fuel dependency and help businesses benefit from cheaper, cleaner energy.
