  • Nevada utility NV Energy has issued an ask for propositions (RFP) for renewables projects to contribute to its portfolio in the state.

The RFP is looking for projects of a minimum dimension of 20MW which are compliant with the state's eco-friendly portfolio standards. The utility also confirmed it would take into consideration proposals that incorporate co-located energy storage.

The tender sheet for NV Energy states that all bids must consist of a completed facilities research or large generator interconnection agreement issued by the NV Energy transmission carrier, and all projects should can supplying energy within the utility's retail service region.

All projects have to be set for a commercial day of 31 December 2025, and all projects will need approval by the Public Utilities Commission of Nevada.

NV Energy said all projects sent under the RFP would be evaluated on aspects including the financial advantage posed to the state, job opportunities created in Nevada and also the distribution of best value to consumers of NV Energy.

The due date for bids is 16:00 on 18 May 2022, with a preliminary shortlist set to be published on 7 June 2022. A last shortlist will be issued 10 days later on, with agreement negotiations expected in conclusion by 1 August 2022.
