NTPC to provide consultancy for solar development in Togo
- Indian electric utility company NTPC is appointed a PMC for installation of approximately 283 megawatts of Togo-based PV capacity.

NTPC Limited has been appointed Project Management Consultant for deployment of around 283 megawatts of photovoltaic capacity in the Togolese Republic.
Earlier, the Indian public sector undertaking proposed the International Solar Alliance to approve its Project Management Consultancy for member countries regarding PV projects development. The PCU requested to be allowed to provide consultancy to member states where green power projects are based on competitive bidding.
The India’s electric utility will be responsible for choosing developers by tender for installing solar facilities on the right of ownership, as well as concluding PPAs with organizations appointed by the state.
NTPC’s responsibility will include structuring of lease and purchase agreements, administration of the tender process for developer selection, aid in establishing policies and regulations for competitive bidding, introductions to the concerned parties for project structuring, and so on.
The Togolese NFP has submitted a proposal to NTPC Ltd for providing consultancy for deployment of 250-megawatt and 33-megawatt photovoltaic farms in Mango and Dapaong, covering the areas of 500 and 70ha, respectively. Thus, the republic has become the first nation to apply for NTPC’s service.
