India's biggest power manufacturer, NTPC, has opened a tender to acquire 1 GW of solar generation capacity from already-built projects.

Project proprietors can bid to have their centers obtained by the fossil fuel company with the tender document defining: "The used assets can be either a special-purpose automobile in which the candidate intends to use their 100% equity offer for sale to NTPC, or it can be a standalone possession which the applicant means to offer for possible acquisition by NTPC."

Solar plants need to have a minimum, single-site generation ability of 50 MW (AC) and ought to have been functional for at least a year by the time bids are submitted to the tender. The solar electrical energy generated by the centers need to have an optimum tariff of Rs5/kWh.

The due date for bids gets on September 22.

NTPC intends to have renewables account for 32 GW of its generation portfolio-- practically a quarter of its fleet-- by 2032. The business has around 2,298 MW of renewables capacity unfinished presently.

"The company is likewise pondering to increase its renewable [s] generation ability via the acquisition of [operational] solar-based power possessions situated in India for a minimum capacity of 1 GW," stated the tender paper.
