NGK Insulators bags 11MW battery order

- The NAS power storage system will be set up in Tsu in Japan for customer Toho Gas
NGK Insulators has received an order for sodium-sulphur (NAS) batteries from Toho Gas for its site in Tsu in Mie Prefecture, in Japan.
The NAS batteries that Toho Gas got have an output of 11.4 MW and a capacity of 69.6 megawatt-hours.
They will certainly be mounted at the former site of Toho Gas's Tsu LNG station, with building and construction set to start this month.
The batteries will be straight linked to an electrical power grid and are planned to secure the supply and also demand of electrical power by saving electric power when there is an excess supply and also releasing it throughout shortages.
