The site has installed and cold commissioned all 1,280 battery cabinets, positioning it to be the largest energy storage facility in the region, located approximately 7 km from Blyth township.

The Blyth battery is being developed alongside the first stage of the Goyder wind park, which will enhance its production capacity. Together, these facilities are set to supply a 70-MW renewable energy baseload to mining company BHP, covering half the energy needs for the Olympic Dam mine starting next summer.
