Neoen turns sod on 40MW Swedish storage
- The Storen Power Reserve BESS in the municipality of Ragunda is set to be operational in H1 2024
Neoen has given notification to continue to battery carrier Nidec to start construction of a 40MW energy storage project in Sweden.
The 40MW/40 megawatt-hour Storen Power Reserve will certainly be situated in the municipality of Ragunda, approximately 100 kilometres from Östersund.
It will be linked to the 130kV E.ON grid as well as is set to be operational in the very first half of 2024.
In line with its develop-to-own model, Neoen owns 100% of Storen Power Reserve and will be the lasting driver of the asset.
The battery will certainly supply Svenska Kraftnät, the Swedish transmission system operator, with ancillary solutions and Frequency Containment Reserve services.
