Mytilineos Signs 40-MW Solar PPA with Marubeni

  • Mytilineos SA has secured a 40-MW solar power purchase agreement (PPA) in Queensland, Australia. With the help of SmartestEnergy Australia, a unit of Marubeni Corp, the Kingaroy solar farm is under construction and expected to be operational by 2021. Mytilineos has 11.9 GW of assets in development globally, including 376 MW in Australia.
Mytilineos Signs 40-MW Solar PPA with Marubeni

Mytilineos SA has secured a 40-MW solar power purchase agreement (PPA) in Queensland, Australia. The agreement was made with local electricity retailer SmartestEnergy Australia, a unit of Japan’s Marubeni Corp. The PPA is connected to the Kingaroy solar farm, which is currently under construction and expected to be operational by the end of 2021. Mytilineos also has two other projects in Queensland and New South Wales that have reached financial closing. The group has a total of 11.9 GW of assets in various stages of development globally, with 376 MW of these in Australia.

  • The PPA is a long-term contract between Mytilineos' Energy and Metals unit and SmartestEnergy Australia.
