Greek energy company Mytilineos has secured financing for a 588MWp solar portfolio in Chile. The financing deal involved a group of lenders including BNP Paribas, Intesa San Paolo, SMBC, Rabobank, and Santander Chile. DNV acted as a market advisor for the financing, which includes the Willka, Doña Antonia, Tocopilla, and Tamarico projects. The solar power plants are expected to generate around 1.6TWh of green electricity annually and reduce over 1 million tonnes of CO2 emissions each year. Enel Chile has committed to purchasing most of the power produced through 10-year power purchase agreements (PPAs).
This is Mytilineos' third project financing of solar PV projects internationally and its first in Chile.
