Mumbai-based Artha Energy Resources on Wednesday revealed the launch of RenewShare, a renewable energy investment platform, that allows fractional ownership of renewable energy (RE) assets in the country.
Launched as an autonomous investment platform, RenewShare caters to investors curious about diversifying their existing portfolio while belonging of the fast-growing RE landscape in India, the renewable energy services provider stated in a statement.
"While RE has an outstanding development story, access to viable investment opportunities in the market for most investors is virtually non-existent. The RE segment lugs the tag of being a very expensive asset class to have and handle individually. The Artha Energy platform, during its launch, has already enlisted a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) with assets worth Rs 7 crore and an early investment commitment of Rs 10 crore from investors, with RE assets spread across 4 cities, the statement claimed.
"With the preliminary complete investment commitment of Rs 10 crore, the feedback from the investor circle has been frustrating, which solidifies our belief in the huge potential and interest in the RE industry.
"Hence, we will certainly facilitate over Rs 200 crores worth of transactions per annum by FY 2024 and are certain to assist investors capture 10 per cent of Indian operating expenses (OPEX) projects," he included.
The platform enlists thematic SPVs, wherein comparable renewable energy projects in the wind and solar segment are combined after being completely vetted by a group of experts. Investors have the choice and can select a pool of SPVs with their recommended RE projects based on their danger appetite, it specified.
SPVs listed on RenewShare would initially need an investment of Rs 20 lakh from an investor, it specified.
