Greek industrial and energy group Metlen Energy & Metals has unveiled an 89-MW solar farm in Chile's Coquimbo region, named Dona Antonia. The project, part of Metlen's 588-MWp build-to-own portfolio in Chile, represents an investment of USD 65 million and is the second of four solar projects to be completed.
The Dona Antonia solar farm, equipped with 151,920 modules, has the capacity to meet the electricity consumption needs of around 77,000 homes. It is part of Metlen's efforts to expand its renewable energy portfolio in Chile, with plans to pair the solar farm with a battery energy storage system by the end of 2025.
