Malaysian Solarvest Secures 60 MW Solar PPAs
- Solarvest secures PPAs with top Malaysian companies for 60 MW of solar power, leading the way in corporate green energy solutions.
Malaysian solar installer Solarvest Holdings Bhd has signed power purchase agreements (PPAs) with several corporate customers to supply electricity from 60 MW of solar parks in Malaysia. The agreements were made with companies such as Bursa Malaysia, Micron Technology, and a global data centre service provider. Solarvest participated in the deals through joint ventures with Savelite Engineering and TNB Renewables, as well as solely with TNB Renewables.
The corporate clients will offtake the output of two solar parks for 21 years, located in Lumut, Perak and Kulim, Kedah. The agreements are part of the Malaysian government's corporate green power programme, allowing corporations to procure virtual renewable electricity and secure Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) without installing PV arrays on their properties. Solarvest and its partners have been awarded a total export capacity of 90 MW under the programme.
