Lightrock 'disappointed' over solar preparation refusal
- Councillors reject 50MW Scruton project in North Yorkshire
Lightrock Power has voiced disappointment after planning permission for its 50MW Scruton solar farm in the north of England was denied.
The North Yorkshire project was rejected by Hambleton District Council last week regardless of a recommendation by intending officers to approve the scheme.
The programmer's founder, Chris Sowerbutts, stated: "It is of course unsatisfactory that members did not agree with their intending officer's evaluating of the preparation equilibrium.
" This project would have created solar energy in the proper way, integrating power safety and security with agricultural result.
He included: "Lightrock was developed with the resolution to create solar energy at the same time as applying all the gains to ecology, environment, as well as education that projects such as this set would have developed.
" We have actually dealt with the regional community and also organisations such as the RSPB to assist safeguard regional wildlife whilst substantially benefitting the setting as well as the RAF to make certain that our propositions would have minimal influence on their work."
