Leeward buys Tri Global's Indiana portfolio
- Utility-scale renewables team Tri Global will market two projects in Indiana, amounting to 580MW capability, to Texas-based Leeward Renewable Energy.
The projects-- the 180 megawatt (MW) Hoosier Line Wind project and also the 400MW Honey Creek Solar project-- are expected ahead online in 2023 as well as stand for Tri Global's initial project sale.
Leeward, which established by Canadian pension fund OMERS, was until just recently better recognized in the power field for its 2GW wind portfolio, yet introduced a strategy to purchase First Solar's 10GW-strong United States solar pipe for US$ 261 million last month. President Jason Allen informed PV Tech earlier this year that the firm is targeting increased development in the utility-scale solar industry, including that the firm "requires to be working on that scale or have adjoining projects to actually be able to complete."
Commenting on this latest procurement, Allen claimed the projects will certainly "increase our efforts in the Indiana market as well as are highly corresponding to our aggressive development method across the U.S."
