Lack of components puts solar projects in Egypt in danger
- The intense scarcity of solar equipment components in Egypt is placing the realisation of solar projects across the nation at risk, the Solar Energy Development Association (SEDA) stated on Sunday.
Problems among investors in the industry regarding missing out on components such as solar cells, transformers, solar heating units, and wires are growing as a result of the changes made to import laws that made the opening of documentary debts difficult, the association alerted.
SEDA, which is advocating the development of the solar energy market in Egypt, insists that measures need to be required to complete the projects that have actually been designated to business or those that will certainly be delivered prior to the COP27 Summit in Egypt in November.
Speaking with Al-Arabiya, Hatem Tawfik, managing supervisor at SEDA member Cairo Solar, claimed that the solar energy projects presently under development remain in the series of 30 MW and 40 MW.
Tawfik stated the regulations necessary for market regulation is available, describing the abolished increase in the personalizeds on photovoltaic panels from 2% to 5%.
According to him, the primary problem for financiers in the solar market is the difficulty pertaining to the opening of docudrama credit scores to guarantee imports.
