JRE enters Taiwan with 1.8-MW solar plant acquisition
- Japan Renewable Energy Corp (JRE) announced today it has obtained the 1.8-MW Big Canal solar plant in Taiwan.
JRE stated that the acquisition, made with its local subsidiary JRE International Taiwan Corporation, represents its initial abroad initiative.
The photovoltaic or pv (PV) plant was bought for an unrevealed quantity from Taiwanese renewable energy business developer King Sunlight New Tech Co Ltd. Operational given that September 2018, Big Canal contains 4 sites on a waterway in Pingtung County. The solar park is capable of generating some 2.15 million kWh per year, sufficient to satisfy the annual power demand of 488 regional residences.
