- Jersey Central Power & Light (JCP&L) claimed on Wednesday that a recently-completed landfill solar park in New Jersey with a capacity of 19.8 MW now provides power to the grid through its moms and dad firm's transmission lines.
JCP&L, a unit of electrical system driver FirstEnergy Corp (NYSE: FE), referred to the solar project developed by CEP Renewables on a former landfill property in Mount Olive. The conclusion of the solar park was introduced in early December.
The FirstEnergy subsidiary said that over the past year, it collaborated with the project programmer to construct a grid connection point with an existing 34.5-kV transmission line. Furthermore, it has actually made some called for line and system upgrades to sustain the project, which was plugged in last month.
Currently, the Mount Olive site is being rented to NJR Clean Energy Ventures, which will own and also run the center long-term.
