- Japanese building and construction and civil engineering firm JDC Corporation (TYO:1887) introduced that it held a revolutionary event for a 12.6-MW solar park in Japan's Miyazaki prefecture.
Located in a 39-hectare (96.3 acres) area in the town of Nobeoka, the photovoltaic (PV) farm is anticipated to start operations around the springtime of 2023, JDC said in its press release.
Once up and running, the PV plant will have the ability to produce sufficient power to meet the annual demand of some 5,000 regional families and also offset 8,400 tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2) annually. Japanese utility Kyushu Electric Power Transmission as well as Distribution Co Inc will purchase the output.
Today, JDC Corp has 12 solar power plants with a complete power generation result of 96 MW. These parks can produce sufficient clean power to power roughly 36,000 regional households, the firm noted.
