JA Solar To Supply More Than 490 MW Modules To Huanghe Hydropower Project
- JA Solar has announced that it has won a tender to supply high-efficiency modules to Huanghe hydropower transmission project. The company will supply 490 MW to Huanghes Qinghai Province ultra-high voltage Transmission project.
The 1.1 GW project is the leading UHV project in the world. It showcases the usage of new technologies including deploying renewable power projects.
JA Solar will also supply the half cell (PERC 9BB) bifacial double modules for the project. The project will entail the integration of sophisticated solar products and the UHV grid. It is expected to result in a massive production of 410 watts and an efficiency of 20.4%. The project incorporates leading technologies such as double glass structure, half-cell, 9BB, and bifacial cells.
The 9BB helps to reduce resistance while the half- cell improves performance in the shaded conditions. On the other hand, the double glass structure enables the units to adapt to a different environment.
Also, the gallium doping technology is used in a silicon wafer to help reduce light-induced degradation. Combined, the technology ensures that the modules are optimized for energy generation.
Huanghe is the largest firm under State Power Investment Corporation. It utilizes modules that have passed Intertek and TUV Nord tests. This is ideal in reducing LCD and balance of system cost. The company has 20 years of experience in the development and construction of photovoltaic power stations.
JA Solar said CEO said that they were honored to team up and work with Huanghe Hydropower in working on the project and that they will work with other stakeholders to promote the application of products that are highly efficient to help it bridge the grid party gap globally.
