JA Solar Secures 99-MW Module Deal in Croatia

JA Solar Technology Co Ltd will supply its DeepBlue 4.0 Pro n-type solar modules for the 99-MW Korlat photovoltaic project in Croatia. The project, developed by China Northern International Group and Shandong Electric Power Engineering Consulting Institute, is for Croatia's state-owned utility, Hrvatska Elektroprivreda (HEP). The modules have passed various international certification tests, ensuring durability against diverse climate conditions.

The Korlat solar farm, once operational, will be Croatia's largest solar installation, generating approximately 165 GWh of electricity annually. This output is sufficient to power around 50,000 households, significantly contributing to the country's renewable energy capacity.

How will JA Solar's DeepBlue 4.0 Pro modules impact Croatia's renewable energy landscape?

  • Increased Renewable Energy Capacity: The deployment of JA Solar's DeepBlue 4.0 Pro modules will significantly boost Croatia's renewable energy capacity, helping the country meet its renewable energy targets and reduce reliance on fossil fuels.
  • Technological Advancement: The use of advanced n-type solar modules represents a technological leap in Croatia's solar infrastructure, potentially setting a new standard for future solar projects in the region.
  • Economic Impact: The project could stimulate local economies by creating jobs during the construction and operational phases, as well as through potential local manufacturing and supply chain opportunities.
  • Energy Independence: By increasing domestic renewable energy production, Croatia can enhance its energy independence, reducing vulnerability to international energy market fluctuations.
  • Environmental Benefits: The project will contribute to a reduction in carbon emissions, supporting Croatia's commitments to international climate agreements and improving air quality.
  • Grid Stability and Modernization: The integration of a large-scale solar farm can encourage further investments in grid infrastructure, enhancing grid stability and modernization efforts.
  • Inspiration for Future Projects: As the largest solar installation in Croatia, the Korlat project could serve as a model and inspiration for future renewable energy projects in the country and the broader Balkan region.
