Italy's Energy Dome, Denmark's Ørsted Partner Up for Energy Storage Facilities
- Italy-based energy storage solution company Energy Dome has revealed that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Denmark's Ørsted, which is a global leader in offshore wind. This teamwork is to run a feasibility study on the implementation of a 20 MW/ 200 MWh energy storage facility using Energy Dome's CO2 battery innovation for Ørsted sites.
The MoU entails the development of several other CO2 battery energy storage facilities, that supply the possibility for the initial 20 MW project. The claimed project is scheduled for construction in the 2nd fifty percent of 2024.
Various other Partnerships
Based On Energy Dome, the feasibility study project in partnership with Ørsted, that will enable the send off of renewable energy over a period of 10 hours or longer, is a turning point for it as for the growth of several commercial CO2 battery energy storage facilities is concerned. The very first site under this teamwork is slated to find up in Continental Europe. The landmark comes at a time when Energy Dome's initial commercial demonstration facility in Sardinia, Italy will get to completion. This is a new commercial utility-scale facility with 20 MW/200 MWh energy storage site in Sardinia, which will be established under a collaboration with Italy's energy company A2A.
Energy Dome also has in the pipeline a variety of projects in Europe, U.S. and various other regions around the world.
Kieran White, VP Europe Onshore at Ørsted, said, "As a firm focused on promptly scaling the build-out of wind, solar, Power-to-X and also other renewable resource remedies, we are delighted to deal with Energy Dome to explore just how we can release their ingenious long-duration energy storage technology. We consider the CO2 Battery service to be a truly appealing choice for long-duration energy storage. This technology could possibly aid us decarbonise electrical grids by making renewable energy dispatchable."
Claudio Spadacini, Founder and also CEO of Energy Dome, said, "We are enjoyed work together with Ørsted, a clean energy pioneer and also the globe's most sustainable energy company, on our shared vision of releasing as much energy storage as possible to enable 100 % renewable resource on the grid. Energy Dome eagerly anticipates aiding Ørsted achieve their renewable resource as well as energy storage objectives as they broaden into new markets."
