Ingeteam, a Spanish power conversion specialist, has secured a contract to supply 70 inverters for a 250-MW solar project in southern Spain. The project, named Tabernas, is being developed by Grenergy Renovables SA in the desert of the same name in Almeria province. Ingeteam will provide its INGECON SUN 3Power C series inverters as part of a turnkey solution for the project, along with the control system and equipment commissioning.
The Tabernas solar farm is expected to generate approximately 466.6 GWh of electricity annually once operational. Amazon.com Inc and Grenergy signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) last year for the output of Tabernas and two other Grenergy solar farms in Spain. The plant is set to begin operations in the coming months, according to Ingeteam.
