Iberdrola secures EUR-500m loan for global renewables expansion

Spanish utility Iberdrola SA has secured a EUR-500-million syndicated green loan to support its renewable energy projects in the US, Australia, and Italy. The 15-year credit facility was arranged by Spanish public bank ICO, Banco Sabadell, and HSBC, with insurance provided by Spanish export credit agency Cesce. The funding will be used for wind, solar PV, and BESS projects, increasing Iberdrola's total financed renewable capacity to 897 MW by 2026.
This loan follows Iberdrola's recent green bond placements totaling EUR 1.085 billion, as part of its commitment to invest EUR 41 billion in renewables, networks, and storage by 2026. The company has also received support from the EIB and the World Bank to achieve its sustainability goals.
