Hive Energy Expands Serbian Solar Portfolio with 216 MW

British renewables developer Hive Energy has secured grid-connection for four solar parks in Serbia, adding a total power generation capacity of 216.5 MW. The projects come with integrated battery energy storage systems, representing 10% of the overall PV capacity. The company expects to continue with urbanism planning procedures in the coming months.

The 50-MW Pirot and 40-MW Prokuplje schemes are set to become shovel-ready between the last quarter of 2024 and the first quarter of 2025, while Veliko Gradiste I and II, with capacities of 71.5 MW and 55 MW, are expected to receive the ready-to-build status shortly after. Hive Energy has a 490-MW Serbian portfolio and plans to sign more grid-connection contracts this month, with additional applications prepared for seven schemes totaling 500 MW. The company opened an office in Belgrade in May 2022 and has 2.2 GW of Serbian solar projects under development.
