The new research hub was announced to twice increase the company’s research-and-development coverage of the country as it was targeted particularly for Chinese audience.

According to the company president, the newly created research centre is based on two Heraeus’s fundamental principles: partnership and innovation. Working in close cooperation with photovoltaic clients has enabled the manufacturer to deeper understand their particular requirements as well as production processes. These combined efforts help the customers apply Heraeus-produced pastes and solar solutions more efficiently and achieve maximum cell performance. The new centre reflects the supplier’s “China for China” principle and will make innovations available to its customers faster.

The innovation hub is announced to have twice more scientific and PV technical personnel in China than the developer had until now, with up to 25% of the staff being Doctors of Philosophy.

The facility is equipped with automated printers for superfast and superprecise single, double, dual printing and SE technology. Moreover, the hub features ultramodern equipment for comprehensive analysis of the metallization technique and the whole process of cell manufacturing.
