Greenvolt Powers Spanish Solar: Iberica Acquisition

Portuguese energy firm Greenvolt - Energias Renovaveis SA has completed the acquisition of 75% of the share capital in Spanish Iberica Renovables SL, a company specialising in self-consumption and utility-scale photovoltaic (PV) power plants. Through its renewables subsidiary Greenvolt Next Portugal, the company agreed to buy the controlling stake in August and recently received the green light from the Portuguese Competition Authority (AdC). Iberica Renovables boasts more than 3 GW of solar capacity in terms of management and construction.
Greenvolt group CEO Joao Manso Neto said the deal strengthens Greenvolt Next capacity to deliver renewable energy solutions, enabling it to respond to the growing demand for distributed generation (DG) systems. In 2022, Iberica Renovables installed a total of 184 MWp in Portugal and Spain, while Greenvolt Next's order book currently stands at 141 MWp.
