GreenVolt gets 65.2 mln euro loan for 45 MWp solar park acquisition in Romania

  • Portugal-based renewable resource producer GreenVolt has gotten a 65.2 million euro ($69.7 million) syndicated loan to finance the acquisition of a 45 MWp solar park in Romania, the loan providers announced on Thursday.

The club loan facility was granted to GreenVolt on a 6.5 years period, the three lenders claimed in a press release.

UniCredit Bank Romania offered half of the overall credit, while Raiffeisen Bank International and Raiffeisen Romania covered the rest.

GreenVolt announced that it is obtaining the solar park valued at 83 million euro with its V-Ridium Solar 45 subsidiary in mid-May.

Part of the power generated in the park is sold on the market, while another component of routine revenue are green certifications, which are valid till 2031. A lot of these green certificates are contracted in euro with the German electric company ages, GreenVolt also stated at the time.

GreenVolt is a Lisbon-headquartered company, possessed by Portuguese industrial group Altri, which is energetic primarily in the field of power production from forest biomass.

GreenVolt broadened in the Bulgarian, Polish, Romanian, and also Italian markets with V-Ridium, a Polish renewables designer, which it acquired in July. The Polish firm focuses on Poland, Greece, Italy, and France, while proactively checking out Bulgaria as well as Romania.

In March, GreenVolt said that it does not expect the war in Ukraine to influence the operations of V-Ridium in Romania or Poland.
