Greece has approved the construction of a 303.7-MWp solar project in Central Macedonia, consisting of 18 solar parks in the Melenikitsi village. The developer, SVS Group, is majority-owned by Green Investments MAE. The project will use over half a million monocrystalline, double-sided, silicon solar panels from Jinko Power Technology Co Ltd and inverters from Huawei Technologies Co Ltd.
The solar complex will not encroach on protected areas such as national forests and wetlands. In addition to the solar farms, a new 400 kV double-circuit overhead transmission line will be installed. This project is a significant step towards Greece's renewable energy goals and will contribute to the country's transition to cleaner energy sources.
