Green Genius, Respect Energy sign 41-MW solar PPA in Poland
- Lithuanian renewables programmer Green Genius said on Wednesday that it has signed two power acquisition agreements (PPA) to supply Polish energy trader Respect Energy with electrical energy from solar (PV) assets with a complete capacity of 41 MW.

Under a five-year contract, Green Genius will feed yearly 18 GWh of energy from 16 MW of PV assets. A 10-year contract envisages the supply of 29 GWh a year from facilities of 25 MW.
Altogether, this will offset a total of 290,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide discharges throughout the contract durations, both beginning with April 1, 2024.
These two PPAs adhere to another 10-year supply deal authorized in between the companies in October 2022 for 21 MW.
The contracts are a substantial milestone in cross-border cooperation, said Povilas-Emilis Cesna, head of trading at Green Genius, adding that it is the last deal for its 2023 task profile, going into the building phase in Poland.
Green Genius, operating 8 European markets, has 263 MW of solar projects in Poland, of which 128.1 MW already finished.
Respect Energy is a European renewable resource investor which brings together more than 600 power producers and developers holding assets or embarking on investments in renewables. It offers a mix of hydro, wind, biogas and also solar power.
