- In October, 39,611 photovoltaic or pv systems with a complete capacity of 607.0 megawatts (MW) and supported under the nation's Renewable Energy Law (EEG) were freshly registered with the German Federal Network Agency (BNetzA), 14 percent less than in September (691.3 MW).
In addition, there are twelve plants not subsidized via the EEG with 96.6 MW. This brings the overall new capacity reported in October to 703.6 MW, 7 percent less than the total reported in September (750 MW).
The total EEG-subsidized capacity registered this year now amounts to 5.5 gigawatts (GW). Extrapolated for the year overall, this would total up to 6.6 GW. The capacity installed this year outside the extent of EEG subsidies is currently approximated at simply under 640 MW. This indicates a pattern of around 7.3 GW of new PV capacity this year, although this is still uncertain as a result of the very rising and falling figures.
