Germany connects 1 GW of wind, solar to the grid in Sept
- Germany turned on 273.13 MW of onshore wind, 99 MW of turbines at sea and 691.27 MW of new solar capacity in September, the Federal Network Agency said on Monday.
In regards to recently released solar capacity, September was the second-strongest month this year after March when new solar systems going beyond 730 MW were put into operation. More than 60% of the new solar capacity in September, or 420.72 MW, were plants connected to the grid beyond EEG tenders. Ground-mounted terminals made up only 6.34 MW of these plants.
The implementation of onshore wind power rebounded, signing up the highest regular monthly level since the start of the year after 3 consecutive months of decrease.
In September, biomass-fired nuclear power plant with a combined capacity of 1.43 MW went on the internet in Germany. In the very first 9 months of the year, the new biomass capacity across the country reached 18.98 MW.
