GCL delivers solar modules for huge European solar farm
- GCL-SI is supplying 150MW of photovoltaic modules to the biggest Europe-based solar development venture.
The huge solar project named after Nuñez de Balboa is being deployed by Iberdrola in the south-western part of Spain.
China’s GCL System Integration Technology won the tender to deliver photovoltaic panels with total capacity of 150 megawatts for the facility in March 2019. Currently, it is preparing for shipment of 72 polysilicon panels in December.
The macroproject completion is scheduled for 2020. The venture has appeared within the framework of general tendency toward utility-scale photovoltaics in the south of Europe.
The solar park with a 391-megawatt grid connection capacity is predicted to generate about 832 gigawatt-hours of power annually.
Spain has been for quite a while and is still among the top solar power markets. And it is becoming still more attractive both for PV component manufacturers and project developers.
