French telecom Orange prepares 5-MW solar farm
- French telecommunications driver Orange SA (EPA: ORA) intends to deploy its first solar farm in Europe-- a 5-MW setup-- on the strategic satellite communications site at Bercenay-en-Othe, Aube division.

The company has signed a memorandum of agreement for this project with solar installer Reservoir Sun, it introduced on Thursday.
Service the project begins right away with an environmental impact analysis that is anticipated to proceed for as much as twelve month. The objective is to figure out the potential impact on living varieties of the planned solar farm, which, if understood, would certainly cover a surface of 50,000 square metres.
Orange noted that out of the plant's complete capacity, 1 MW will certainly be allocated for self-consumption objectives and the rest for reinjection into the grid. In all, the center needs to be able to cover 20% of the site's power needs. It is expected to be completed in 2025.
