- Ciel & Terre is leading the way in floating solar, with the construction of an 11-MWp power park in France. Utilizing its innovative Hydrelio aiR Optim technology, this project will be part of a 100-MWp portfolio across Europe this year.
Ciel & Terre, a French company, has started the construction of an 11-MWp floating solar power park in Saint-Savin commune, Vienne department. The company is utilizing its Hydrelio aiR Optim technology that is based on HDPE floating structures to support modules of up to 670 W in size. Energ'Isere was responsible for developing the project in collaboration with GenSun and Ciel & Terre will deliver it on a turnkey basis. This is part of the company's plan to complete a 100-MWp portfolio of floating solar projects across Europe this year, some of which are already under construction.
What Is Ciel & Terre's Plan for 100-MWp Floating Solar Projects in Europe?
- Ciel & Terre's floating solar projects are designed to take advantage of the vast amount of unused water in Europe, including reservoirs, lakes, and large rivers.
- The Hydrelio aiR Optim technology is designed to be resistant to wind, waves, and other natural forces, as well as provide protection against algae and water birds.
- The 11-MWp project in Saint-Savin commune is the first of Ciel & Terre's 100-MWp portfolio of European floating solar projects.
- Ciel & Terre is also in the process of developing additional floating solar projects in countries such as France, the Netherlands, and Germany.
- The company is also exploring opportunities to expand its floating solar portfolio further outside of Europe, with projects in Asia, South America, and Africa.
- Ciel & Terre's floating solar projects aims to reduce the impact of climate change by providing a sustainable source of energy and reducing the need to build additional power plants.
- The company is committed to helping cities, municipalities, and other organizations transition to 100% green energy sources, which will have a positive impact on the environment.
