First Solar books 2-GW module order from National Grid Renewables

- United States solar panels maker First Solar Inc (NASDAQ: FSLR) revealed today that it has authorized a framework contract with Minneapolis-based developer National Grid Renewables for the supply of 2 GW DC of thin-film PV modules.

Its thin-film cadmium telluride modules will certainly be utilized in projects throughout the United States, with shipments scheduled in 2024 and also 2025, the producer claimed. No other details were released.
First Solar highlighted its long-standing collaboration with National Grid Renewables over the past decade. Among the current projects are the functional 200-MW Prairie Wolf solar farm in Illinois and also the 275-MW/125-MWh Noble Solar and also Storage project, currently unfinished in Texas.
National Grid Renewables, part of the endeavors department of UK's National Grid Plc (LON: NG), has a portfolio of 585 MW of solar projects in operation or unfinished across the US.
