First phase of 290-MW Zwartowo solar park in Poland goes online
- The building of Poland's largest solar park is proceeding with the first 204-MWp phase of the Zwartowo project currently feeding tidy electricity to the grid.
The first section of the project with a planned total capacity of 290 MWp was attached to the grid in September, EPC contractor Goldbeck Solar said on Thursday. Construction service the 2nd phase of 86 MWp is set to start at the beginning of next year.
Situated about 65 km (40.39 mi) northwest of the city of Gdansk, Zwartowo is anticipated to require total prices of about EUR 200 million (USD 198.12 m).
Commenting on the favorable influence of the project, Goldbeck Solar's handling supervisor Joachim Goldbeck claimed: "Through Zwartowo, more than 90,470 houses can be provided with green energy and also CO2 exhausts can be reduced by about five million tonnes during the project duration."
In May, Goldbeck Solar and also its partner Respect Energy S.A. protected a PLN-635-million (USD 132.4 m/EUR 133.6 m) finance for the project from the European Bank for Reconstruction as well as Development (EBRD) and also Polish loan providers PKO BP SA (WSE: PKO) as well as Pekao SA (WSE: PEO).
