Fire at Amazon's Maryland storehouse linked to rooftop solar panels

- A fire that broke out Wednesday on the roofing of the Amazon.com Inc (NASDAQ: AMZN) storage facility near Perryville, Maryland, was brought on by "an undefined event including the photovoltaic panel system" situated in addition to the structure, Maryland State Fire Marshal said following an investigation.
The fire was ruled unintended and no apprehensions were made. Nobody was reported injured.
Damage to the property totalled an estimated USD 500,000 (EUR 411,700), according to authorities.
The blaze was found by Amazon staff members. It took 60 firemens to bring the fire in control in 80 mins, the Office of the State Fire Marshal claimed.
